Cacodemon - The term used to describe the 12th house, a malevolent spirit. The opposite is a benevolent spirit called Agathodaemon which has dominion over the 11th House.
Cadent Houses - These houses are the least powerful houses in a chart to the point where they are malevolent. Planets placed in these houses are debilitated. The Cadent or Falling Houses are the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th. The 3rd and 9th houses are more benevolent than the 6th and 12th.
Cancer - The 4th sign of the Zodiac with rulership over crabs.
Capricorn - The 10th sign of the Zodiac with rulership over goats.
Caput Draconis - The Latin name for the Head of the Dragon.
Cardinal signs - The cardinal signs correspond with the cardinal points (East, West, North & South) and they are Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn.
Catahibazon - The Arabic name for the Tail of the Dragon or South Lunar node.
Cauda Draconis - The Latin name for the Tail of the Dragon.
Cazimi - When any Planet moves into the center of the Sun not escaping 17 minutes on either side it is known as Cazimi and is a great dignity for any Planet.
Combustion - This happens when a Planet is within its orb of the Sun and thus the Sun burns the Planet because of its proximity. This is known as a great debility to any Planet.
Comets - Traditionally comets were seen as exhalations of the earth raised by the Sun. Their different shapes and sizes dictated their influence and were mainly of a malevolent nature.
Conjunction - When two or more Planets meet on the same degree or are within each others orb when coming together (or going apart).
Constellation - A grouping of stars together which are configured in certain patters. Each constellation has an influence as well as each of the stars contained in it. For example, Canis Major (the greater dog) has influence of dogs and their temperament.
Co-significator - The joint rulership of a house.
Culmination - The rising of a Planet or point to the Midheaven.
Cusp - A division of a chart which divides each of the 12 houses up to aid analysis of the chart. Different house systems provide different cusp locations.
