Prediction is one of the main branches of Astrology however they are quite overlooked and improperly used modernly. This chapter deals with the variety of methods used in predicting the Natives future and events that shall befall them. I will start this chapter with a prediction method that has been overlooked by many modern Astrologers and that is the method of Directions.
Astrologers from the creation of Directions have argued how exactly the measurement of time should be judged. There will be offered a variety of methods given by various Astrologers. Each Astrologer using these methods should find which method they believe works best or is suitable to them.
No Direction should ever go unsupported. If there is no agreement between transits and the Solar Return or Annual Revolution then very little should come from the Direction itself. Therefore I see it fit to follow this method with an introduction on how to interpret and understand Solar Returns/Annual Revolutions.
There are a few rules or aphorisms which can aid the student in understanding Solar Returns and also aid in their reading of them. For this reason I have included some Aphorisms for the student to use while interpreting Solar Returns.
Like Directions, Solar Returns can be reduced into a specific timing to understand how long the event will take to materialize. I have included a guide to help you understand how to reduce the events into a specific day of the year.
Now we come to the art of Profections which is another method of prediction. Profections are a simple way of determining future events.
Finally we come to the final prediction methods and those are of Transits. Transits are very important in Traditional Astrology because they offer an exact timing for an event and they provide day to day information. Transits have been quite erroneously used by many modern Astrologers (as the primary use for prediction) and it will be explained how to correct use them.
